Desde mi punto de vista este es uno de los álbumes más bellos de 2012,
Scott McLemore, un baterista Norteamericano, viviendo en
Islandia desde hace muchos años, y su refrescante último trabajo llamado "
Remote Location" (2012).
Estoy escribiendo, y también escuchando el álbum, nuevamente, y cada pieza de música está conectada a alguna profunda emoción, el pasado, el presente, el sitio al que llamamos hogar, aún cuando no nos encontremos más allí.
Scott McLemore toca con un sutil, pero fuerte encanto, no aleja al resto de los músicos, él es el gran paisaje donde sus socios musicales pueden expresar sus sentimientos,
Sunna Gunnlaugs (piano & Wurlitzer), una reconocida y talentosa pianista de jazz de
Islandia, también la mujer de
Scott McLemore, puede ser poderosa y al mismo tiempo mover sus dedos con una precisión temible, nunca eclipsando el alma y corazón de la música.
Óskar Guðjónsson puede compartir los bellos sonidos de su saxo en un entorno de jazz de vanguardia, o, como en esta grabación, en un sitio donde está más cerca del jazz moderno, y realiza un gran trabajo en todos lados.
Andrés Thor es otro dotado músico de ese asombroso país musical llamado
Islandia, y puede saltar de suaves y melancólicos sonidos folk, a fuertes laberintos de puro jazz.
Róbert Þórhallsson esta a cargo del contrabajo, y también la guitarra bajo eléctrica y acústica, él camina arriba y abajo con la la clase de creatividad que encontrarán en todo el álbum.
Y regresando a la música incluída aquí, puedo decirles cosas como estas:
"Remote Location", un cálido paisaje musical.
"Secrets of Earth", caminando lentamente hacia sitios mágicos y ocultos.
"Citizen Sitting Zen", un tierno viaje hacia los mejores lugares dentro de nosotros.
"Una Danza en la Cocina", una breve y gentil invitación a una hermosa danza.
"Charlottesville", recordando sitios viejos pero no olvidados.
"Dunegrass", buscando un lugar donde el verde es más verde.
"Woods at Night", disfruten esta tranquila y estupenda noche.
"Waking", buen momento para un lento despertar.
"Balkelero", un día brillante puede sorprendernos en cualquier lado.
"Don't Miss the Signs", un blues muy dulce.
"Movement for Motian", un sentido homenaje al maravilloso Paul Motian.
Después de todo, escuchando este álbum, puedo confiar en que hay mucha buena música para descubrir allí fuera, debemos agradecer a
Scott McLemore y a todos los involucrados en este proyecto, porque ellos encendieron esas brillantes luces musicales una vez más.
From my point of view this is one of the most beautiful albums from 2012,
Scott McLemore, a North American drummer, living in
Iceland since many years go, and his refreshing last work called "
Remote Location" (2012).
I'm writing, and also listening the album, again, and each piece of music is connected to some deep emotion, the past, the present, the place we call home, even when we're not longer there.
Scott McLemore plays with a subtle, but strong charm, he doesn't push away the rest of the musicians, he's the big landscape where his musical partners can express their feelings.
Sunna Gunnlaugs (piano & Wurlitzer), a well known and talented jazz pianist from
Iceland, also
Scott McLemore's wife, can be powerful and at the same time to move her fingers with a scary precision, never overshadowing the soul and heart from the music.
Óskar Guðjónsson can share his beautiful saxophone's sounds in an avant-garde jazz environment, or, as in this recording, in a place where he's closer to modern jazz, and he does a great job everywhere.
Andrés Thor is another gifted musician from that amazing musical country called
Iceland, and he can jump from soft and melancholic folk sounds, to strong pure jazz labyrinths.
Róbert Þórhallsson is on charge of the double bass, and also the electric and acoustic bass guitar, he walks up and down with the kind of creativity you'll find in the whole album.
And going back to the music included here, I can tell you things like these:
"Remote Location", a warm musical lanscape.
"Secrets of Earth", slowly walking into magical and hidden places.
"Citizen Sitting Zen", a tender trip to the best places inside us.
"Una Danza en la Cocina", a brief and gentle invitation to a beautiful dance.
"Charlottesville", remembering old but not forgotten places.
"Dunegrass", looking for a place where the green is greener.
"Woods at Night", enjoy this quite and marvellous night.
"Waking", a good time for a slow wake up.
"Balkelero", a bright day can surprise us everywhere.
"Don't Miss the Signs", a very sweet blues.
"Movement for Motian", a heartfelt tribute to the wonderful Paul Motian.
After all, listening this album, I can trust there's a lot of good music to discover out there, we must thanks to people as
Scott McLemore and to everyone involved in this project, because they turned on those bright musical lights once again.
