En años recientes, una de las más fantásticas sorpresas, fue descubrir la música de un entonces no muy conocido guitarrista y compositor, Lucio Balduini, pero ahora, cuando estamos hablando sobre él, sabemos que estamos hablando sobre talento, y creatividad sin límite.
"Lucecita" (Buri, 2007) fue su primer disco, y ahora el está listo para poner otros proyectos en el camino, incluyendo un tour Europeo, pero...
El miércoles 18, marzo 2009, 21:30 hs., el estará presentando música de "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007), y también nueva música, el lugar: Notorious (Av. Callao 966, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina), y nuevamente, mismo lugar y hora, el miércoles 25, 2009.
En esta oportunidad como trío, con Lucio Balduini en guitarra, efectos y composiciones, junto con dos grandes socios, Ariel Naón en contrabajo y composiciones, y Rodrigo Reparaz en batería.
No podemos hablar sobre jazz, o cualquier otra etiqueta, pero por supuesto hay algo de jazz involucrado, improvisación, experimentación, pero también melodías, canciones, pienso que realmente necesitan escuchar esto, porque sólo es, sí, "sólo", bella música, ¿pueden pedir algo mejor en estos locos días en que vivimos?


In recent years, one of the most fantastic surprises, was to discover the music from a then not well known guitar player and composer, Lucio Balduini, but now, when we're talking about him, we know we're talking about talent, and creativity without limit.
"Lucecita" (Buri, 2007) was his first album, and now he's ready to put another projects on the road, including an European tour, but...
On wednesday 18, march 2009, 9:30 pm, he'll be presenting music from "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007), and also new music, the place: Notorious (Av. Callao 966, Autonomic City of Buenos Aires, Argentina), and again, same place and time, on wednesday 25, 2009.
In this opportunity as a trio, with Lucio Balduini on guitar, effects and compositions, along with two great partners, Ariel Naón on acoustic bass and compositions, and Rodrigo Reparaz on drums.
We can't talk about jazz, or any other label, but of course there's some jazz involved, improvisation, experimentation, but also melodies, songs, I think you really need to listen this, because it's only, yes, "only", beautiful music, can you ask for something better in these crazy days we're living?

Lucio Balduini, una semana después de "Lucecita" en Virasoso Bar / Lucio Balduini, a week after "Lucecita" at Virasoro Bar

Una semana después, y la melodía de "Wake up Donny" aún está saltando en mi cabeza. ¿Música experimental con melodía? ¿Por qué no?
"Lucecita" (Buri, 2007), de Lucio Balduini fue aire fresco en Virasoro Bar, el último jueves 8, noviembre 2007.
Lucio Balduini (guitarra, efectos, loops, composición), Ariel Naón (contrabajo y bajo eléctrico, set free), Rodrigo Reparaz (batería), y los invitados especiales: Ramiro Flores (saxos) y Alberto Ibarguren (samplers).
Material del primer álbum de Lucio Balduini, "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007), incluido el homenaje a un "viejo juego": "Atari", pero también canciones nuevas.
No hay "comportamiento pirotécnico" en el sonido de la guitarra de Lucio Balduini, el está tranquilo, profundamente enfocado en sus sensaciones internas, y lo mismo para el resto de la banda.
Ariel Naón, en este momento uno de los mejores contrabajistas que conozco, y suficientemente joven para ir aún más allá de su brillante presente, desarrollando un sensible acercamiento a un maravilloso sonido con el bajo eléctrico.
Rodrigo Reparaz puede entregar un fuerte sonido de rock, y al mismo tiempo la sutileza para sostener los momentos de introspección del trío.
Sobre los invitados especiales, Ramiro Flores no es más una promesa, es un inteligente saxofonista, con mucho para ofrecer, y Alberto Ibarguren, bueno, una lección viviente sobre como se pueden utilizar sonidos electrónicos para agregar colores a la música, no tontas sombras para destruir el sonido.
Un comentario especial sobre la versión de "Gusanito metálico" (escrita por Enrique Norris, he incluida en el álbum, como "Peces y círculos", también de Enrique Norris), no es tarea fácil tratar con la música de Enrique Norris, agregando más belleza a la versión original.
Les dije antes, música con rastros de la libertad del jazz, pero no es jazz, ¿qué es?, diría que sólo buena música, y en estos días eso significa oro puro.


One week later, and the melody from "Wake up Donny" it's still jumping in my head. Experimental music with melody? Why not?
Lucio Balduini's "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007) was fresh air in Virasoro Bar, last thursday 8, november 2007.
Lucio Balduini (guitar, effects, loops, composition), Ariel Naón (acoustic and electric bass, set free), Rodrigo Reparaz (drums), and the special guests: Ramiro Flores (saxophones) and Alberto Ibarguren (samplers).
Material from Lucio Balduini's first album, "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007), included the tribute to and "old game: "Atari", but also new songs.
There's no "pirotecnic behavior" in Lucio Balduini's guitar sound, he's quiet, deeply focused on his inner feelings, and the same for the rest of the band.
Ariel Naón, right now one of the best acoustic bass players I know, and young enough to go even beyond his brilliant present, developing a sensitive approach to a wonderful sound with the electric bass.
Rodrigo Reparaz can deliver a strong rock sound, and at the same time the subtlety to sustain the moments of introspection from the trio.
About the special guests, Ramiro Flores it's no longer a promise, he's an intelligent saxophonist, with a lot to offer, and Alberto Ibarguren, well, a living lesson about how you can use electronic sounds to add colors to music, not silly shadows to destroy the sound.
A special note about the version from "Gusanito metálico" - "Metallic little worm" (written by Enrique Norris, and included in the album, as "Peces y círculos" - "Fishes and circles" -, also from Enrique Norris), not an easy task to deal with Enrique Norris music, adding more beauty to the original version,
I told you before, music with traces from the jazz freedom, but it's not jazz, what is?, I'll would say just good music, and these days that means pure gold.

El otro día estaba hablando con unos amigos sobre un nuevo álbum, estábamos realmente asombrados por el excelente material incluido en el disco de Lucio Balduini "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007).
Para mi esta es una grabación fuera de lo común, la clase de trabajo que pueden ver saltando más allá de la superficie de mediocridad, y el salto, bueno, realmente alto.
Entonces, voy a estar en Virasoro Bar, este jueves 8, noviembre 2007, 21:30 hs., para disfrutar del talento de Lucio Balduini (guitarra, efectos, loops, composición), Ariel Naón (contrabajo y bajo eléctrico, set free), Rodrigo Reparaz (batería), y los invitados especiales: Ramiro Flores (saxos) y Alberto Ibarguren (samplers).
Un largo camino para el Lucecita Project, desde los días del 2005 en Barcelona, y un pequeño comentario, la forma en que Lucio Balduini habla sobre la influencia de Jorge De la Vega (un maravilloso, y olvidado artista de Argentina. Músico, pintor, y mucho más...) en su trabajo.
"Lucecita", una música con rastros de la libertad del jazz, pero no es jazz. Aquí puedo sentir muchas puertas abiertas, a un hermoso mundo de sonidos, elijan la suya y entren...



The other day I was talking with some friends about a new album, we were really astonished by the excellent material included in Lucio Balduini's "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007).
For me this is a recording out of the ordinary, the kind of work you can see jumping beyond the surface of mediocrity, and the jump, well, a really high one.
So, I'm going to be at Virasoro Bar, this thursday 8, november 2007, 9:30 pm, to enjoy the talent from Lucio Balduini (guitar, effects, loops, composition), Ariel Naón (acoustic and electric bass, set free), Rodrigo Reparaz (drums), and the special guests: Ramiro Flores (saxophones) and Alberto Ibarguren (samplers).
A long road for the Lucecita Project, since the days from 2005 in Barcelona, and one little comment, the way Lucio Balduini talks about the influence from Jorge De la Vega (a wonderful, and forgotten artist from Argentina. Musician, painter, and much more...) on his work.
"Lucecita", a music with traces from the jazz freedom, but it's not jazz. Here I can feel many open doors, to a beautiful world of sounds, choose yours and enter...
