Siempre es grandioso descubrir gente haciendo cosas buenas, especialmente en una algunas veces conflictiva forma de arte arte: la fotografía.
Beth Fladung estaba trabajando duro para demostrar su talento, y finalmente existe un agradable lugar para ver algo de su trabajo, la exibición será "Hogar Dulce Hogar" (originalmente, "Home Sweet Home"), fotografías por Beth Fladung, de Mayo 4 a Junio 10, en la Galería Redux, 116 E. 16th Street (esto es para todos aquellos en el área de Nueva York).
Este trabajo en particular es sobre gente viviendo en moteles, es un poco convencional y estremecedor material.

It's always great to discover people doing good things, specially in a sometimes conflictive form of art: the phography.
Beth Fladung was working hard to show her talent, and finally there's a nice place to see some of her work, the exhibition will be "Home Sweet Home", photographs by Beth Fladung, from May 4th - June 10th, at Redux Gallery,
116 E. 16th Street (that's for all the people in the New York area).
This particular work it's about people living in motels, it's an unconventional and striking material.

Euskadi: la calma está aquí / Euskadi: the calm is here

Bueno, aún después del incendio en Barañáin (Navarra), y el violento incidente en Getxo (Vizcaya), algunas voces inteligentes están trayendo algo de calma a Euskadi. Batasuna, el Gobierno Español, casi todos, excepto por el PP (Partido Popular) y el Presidente de Navarra, Miguel Sanz, están trabajando por el proceso de paz.
Lo que quiere el PP (Partido Popular), es un misterio, especialmente cuando pueden ver a un político totalmente desacreditado, Angel Acebes (sí, del PP), hablando, mezclando tontas y peligrosas frases.
De todas formas, el proceso de paz está vivito y coleando.



Well, even after the fire in Barañáin (Navarra), and the violent incident in Getxo (Vizcaya), some intelligent voices are bringing some calm to Euskadi. Batasuna, the Spanish Government, almost everyone, except for the PP (Partido Popular) and the President of Navarra, Miguel Sanz, are working for the peace process.
What the PP (Partido Popular) really wants, it's a mistery, specially when you can see a totally discredited politician, Angel Acebes (yes, from the PP), talking, mixing nonsense and dangerous sentences.
Anyway, the peace process is alive and kicking.

Euskadi: calma es la palabra clave / Euskadi: calm is the key word

A primera vista algunas personas lucen como si estuvieran eperando el retorno de la violencia de ETA.
Sí, tal vez el incendio de hoy en Barañáin (Navarra) fue un acto violento, de la "kale borroka" ("lucha callejera"), pero hasta el final de la investigación policial no hay nada que decir.
Pero el PP (Partido Popular), bajo el liderazgo de Mariano Rajoy, está brindando las usuales "lecciones morales" sobre lo que hay que hacer, es triste ver que el PSOE (Partido Socialista Obrero Español), en el gobierno, no está tomando el sendero para una calma y relajada respuesta.
La última semana Mariano Rajoy estuvo haciendo olas sobre la posición de Navarra después del cese del fuego de ETA, es tiempo de pensar quien está representando los roles principales contra la voluntad de los pueblos de Euskadi y España. ¿Es ETA o el PP?



At first sight some people look like they're waiting for the returning of ETA's violence.

All this is a terrible proof of the lack of interest to give an answer to the poverty problems of the world. It's clear, poor people doesn't have enough money to jump into the market of consumers of the "bright first world".

Miguel Angel Cárcano: un buen director de cine / Miguel Angel Cárcano: a good filmmaker

Miguel Angel Cárcano no es un desconocido en el ambiente de los festivales de cine, desde sus "viejos" cortometrajes y medio metrajes, hasta sus dos largos.
"Interior (noche)", su último trabajo al día de hoy, fue seleccionado para competir en el DIBA (Festival Internacional de Cine Digital de Barcelona).
Pero eso no es todo, en Mayo la película estará en el REC06 (Festival Internacional de Cine de Tarragona).
Y finalmente, pero no por eso menos importante, esta noche (Abril 20) en el Festival de las Américas, en Austin, Texas, si, en los Estados Unidos de América. ¿Está Hollywood llamando a Miguel? Espero que tengan su número...


Miguel Angel Cárcano it's not an unknown in the movie festivals scene, from his "old" short and medium lenght movies, to his two full length features.
“Interior (noche)”, his last work to date, was selected for competition at DIBA (Digital Barcelona Film Festival).
But that's not all, in May the film will be at the REC06 (Festival Internacional de Cine de Tarragona).
And last, but not least, tonight (April 20) at the Festival de las Américas, in Austin, Texas, yes, in the United States of America. It's Hollywood calling Miguel? I hope they have his number...

Raúl Castells en libertad

El juez de instrucción Ignacio Belderraín, dictaminó que existía "falta de mérito", por lo que Raúl Castells fue liberado esta tarde, aunque por los habituales, y nada veloces, trámites burocráticos, recién pisará la calle esta noche.
La investigación seguirá su curso, tratando de probar el delito de "daño calificado y robo", acusación que también inculpa a algunos de los compañeros del Movimiento Independiente de Jubilados y Desocupados, del que Castells es el líder.
Dejando de lado las espasmódicas opiniones del gobierno, y la falta de existencia de una oposición parlamentaria inteligente, seguirá siendo más peligroso en la Argentina tratar de instalar un comedor comunitario, que ser un delincuente de guante blanco, aunque algunos ya ni siquiera se preocupan por ponerse los guantes.

Raúl Castells detenido: ¿Argentina está gobernada por un dictador?

Hace unos minutos fue detenido Raúl Castells, líder de un importante movimiento social (Movimiento Independiente de Jubilados y Desocupados).
Muchas veces he manifestado que no siempre estoy de acuerdo con sus actitudes, pero es muy impresionante lo que acabo de ver. Decenas de policías golpeando a gente indefensa, llevando a Raúl Castells detenido, impidiendo el acto que iba a desarrollarse en el clausurado Mercado de las Pulgas.
Ya mismo debería estar el Ministro del Interior explicando está violenta represión, sin ningún sentido, de un acto absolutamente pacífico.
En un país que aún sufre graves desigualdades, no es comprensible que se impida la creación de un comedor comunitario, y detener a quien pretende hacerlo, por no disponer de algún permiso o trámite específico.
Cosas muy raras están ocurriendo en Argentina. ¿No habrá detrás del falso progresismo de Néstor Kirchner un fascismo que se extiende?
Por ahora, sólo preguntas, ninguna respuesta.

El viernes, abril catorce, recordaremos a la Segunda República Española (1931 - 1939). El comienzo de un sueño, asesinado por los fascistas.
Como un simple tributo, y con todo mi corazón, pondré la bandera de la Segunda República Española en la foto de mi perfil, por algunos días, para hacer pensar a las nuevas generaciones. Y no es un mensaje solamente para España, tal vez los fascistas ahora lucen inofensivos, pero debemos ser cuidadosos, son tan peligrosos como siempre.
¡Qué viva la República!



On friday, april fourteen, we'll remember the Second Spanish Republic (1931 – 1939). The start of a dream, killed by the fascists.
As a simple tribute, and with all my heart, I will put the flag of the Second Spanish Republic on my profile photo, for a couple of days, to make the new generations think. And it's not only a message for Spain, perhaps the fascists are looking harmless now, but we must be careful, they're dangerous as ever.
