There's not an empty metaphor in the title, if you're lucky enough to listen this new band, you'll be listening too the sound from one of the most interesting musicians in the local jazz scene: Carlos Álvarez.
Now with his own project, because he's not unknown for most good music lovers, he was an important piece, and he still is, in many other bands.
Carlos Álvarez (acoustic bass) will be sharing his new work with us, and of course with the Carlos Álvarez Trio other members, Rodrigo Domínguez (sax) and Hernán Mandelman (drums), two great musical partners, so, this is an invitation for everyone, monday night, june 1, 2009, 9:30 pm, at Notorious (Av. Callao 966, Autonomic City of Buenos Aires, Argentina), and again on monday 8, same place and hour.
New music, from great musicians, delivering fresh ideas, jazz as the vehicle, but, they're going beyond, and in a world involved deeper and deeper in a pool of artistic mediocrity, we need to support the ones that are taking the hard road, to perform the best music.

There's not too much sense to talk about photography, all you need to do to enjoy the experience, just open your eyes, and soul, as in music you need to open your ears, and soul.
Juan-Carlos Hernández is another new name in my "favorite artists" list, half Spanish, half Swiss, heart full of talent to bring to our eyes beautiful emotions, when his lenses are gently floating over
jazz musicians as Ornette Coleman, Sonny Rollins, Steve Coleman, Dave Douglas.
And that's my invitation, because with just the fantastic photo, like the one you can see at the right, from Sonny Rollins, I can tell that you're looking at the tip of the iceberg, a warm "artistic iceberg", with some of the most wonderful photos you can see these days about the jazz world, photos you can enjoy over and over vistando el website de Juan-Carlos Hernández.

Martín Iannaccone: un largo, y maravilloso camino a la música / Martín Iannaccone: a long, and wonderful road to music

I like to search for new music, all the time, but sometimes can be an overwhelming task, too much good music, and very little time, then, some strange episode can bring to the surface an artist you know, but you weren't paying real attention, that's the case with the cellist and composer Martín Iannaccone.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, member of a deeply musical family, his father, Roberto Yanés, singer, pianist, composer, one of the most beautiful voices I know.
But Martín Iannaccone took a long time ago his own path in music, sharing recording and stages with such talents as Pedro Aznar, Juan Carlos "Mono" Fontana, Ernesto Jodos, Santiago Vázquez, Pablo Bobrowicky, Mehmet Ergin, Mario Verandi, Simon Stockhausen.
Several genres and styles, always at the highest level, and finally, since some years ago, taking the decision to make Berlin his home.
Not an easy task to put labels on Martín Iannaccone's music, and if you know me, you know I don't like to tag music, but, just to help the "new listeners", there's a little of Argentina's tango and folkloric music, modern electronic sounds, some jazz here and there, but essentially, fabulous music along the way.
Then, there's only one more thing to do, to encourage all of you to visit Martín Iannaccone's website, if you're a good music lover, I know you'll be grateful.

Since the early days of this blog advertising wasn't included in any form, but, a few days ago, the people from Funky Key, made me and offer to include a banner to promote a new merchandising, and I said yes.
You can see the banner with the guitar shape openers above (Eco - Friendly, made from recycled aluminum), at the top of the blog.
I'm not going to be rich for including that, but if you make a purchase at Funky Key using the banner, you'll be helping euskir's txoko, and having a long experience in advertising and mass media, will be an interesting test to learn about new methods to support and keep the blog alive and kicking.

There's a whole world out there dedicated to empty music, "garbage music", just for a couple of hours of hopeless fun, not the kind of music you'll find on this new album from Federico Barabino, called "Solo en vivo" ("Live alone").
Always interested in the sounds inside, and beyond music, just with an electric guitar and a feedback console, building bridges between notes and tones, opening spaces, a completely different world from the one I was talking at the beginning.
In this world the improvisation could be one of the answers, but you can listen, and enjoy, with your own ears, and even download the full album, and his previous work, "Ruido is not noise" (Ruidemos, 2008), in several audio formats, as wav, flac, ogg, and mp3.
Good music, legal and free, you can't ask for something better these days...
