Si, como ustedes y yo. Y ahora, sólo un pequeño fragmento del artículo de Robert Fisk en The Independent:

No es necesario decirlo, sus palabras recibieron tan sólo unos pocos segundos en los mayores canales de noticias de los Estados Unidos. La sabiduría del Sr. Khatami no es solicitada en Washington.


Yes, like you and me. And now, just a little excerpt from Robert Fisk's article at The Independent:

"Any popular or democratic change or transformation that is outside the realm of their influence is not acceptable," he said, "for they find it far more convenient to deal with non-nationalistic and non-popular trends and regimes rather than popular ones, who naturally tend to care about the welfare and the physical interests of their people."

Needless to say, his words were given scarcely a few seconds on America's major news channels. Mr Khatami's wisdom is not wanted in Washington.

Sunday afternoon in Buenos Aires, not too much sun, not too much clouds, a crazy day, kind of cold, good time for a movie, and why not at the new Monumental complex (Lavalle 780, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires)?
Founded in 1938, closed at the end of the nineties, but since 2001 open again, thanks to the effort of Norberto Feldman.
Now with four movie theaters in one, plus the building of the old Ocean movie theater, and the best in technology and comfort.
Like I like to say, it's always good to see more spaces dedicated to art, and now we've got a new one, welcome back home Monumental.

Irán, poder nuclear, por favor... / Iran, nuclear power, please...

Sólo unas pocas palabras sobre un tema que me está volviendo loco.
No me gusta la idea de Irán trabajando en planes nucleares, lo mismo para los Estados Unidos de América, Israel, India, China, ustedes saben, todos aquellos con un gran arsenal nuclear.
Es tiempo de recordar ese viejo grito, para toda la gente de buena voluntad: ¡No a las Armas Nucleares!

Just a few words about an issue that it's driving me crazy.
I don't like the idea of Iran working on nuclear plans, the same for the United States of America, Israel, India, China, you know, all the ones with a big nuclear arsenal.
It's time to remember that old cry, for all the people of goodwill: No Nukes!

ETA: después de la última declaración un momento de... ¿calma? / ETA: after the last statement a moment of... calm?

Hace algunas semanas una declaración de ETA (Euskadi Ta Askatasuna / Euskadi y Libertad) cayó como agua fría, especialmente entre la gente con grandes esperanzas en el proceso de paz, porque una advertencia sobre una "crisis" estaba sobre la mesa.
Ahora, algunas semanas después, un momento de calma, nos deja pensar que las palabras sobre un largo y duro camino no eran ideas tontas en la mayoría de las declaraciones de las personas involucradas en el proceso.
Algunos asuntos principales están ahora en la superficie, uno realmente importante, al menos desde mi punto de vista, y esa es la tarea de traer a los prisioneros Vascos a prisiones de Euskadi, no estamos hablando de libertad, estamos hablando de un derecho humano básico.
La otra "pata" de este momento es el conflicto con la legalización de Batasuna, el partido nacionalista de izquierda. La "Ley de Partidos" fue siempre un instrumento inútil, un acuerdo entre el PP (Partido Popular) y el PSOE (Partido Socialista Obrero Español), pero ahora es claramente un obstáculo.
Días lentos, pero existe una gran recompensa al final del viaje: paz.


Some weeks ago a statement from ETA (Euskadi Ta Askatasuna / Euskadi and Freedom) fell like cold water, specially between the people with high hopes in the peace process, because a warning about a "crisis" was over the table.
Now, some weeks after that, a moment of calm, let us think that the words about a long and hard road were not silly ideas in most of the statements from the people involved in the process.
Some main issues are now in the surface, one really important, at least from my point of view, and that's the task to bring the Basque prisoners to Euskadi prisons, we're not talking about freedom, we're talking about a basic human right,
The other "leg" of this moment it's the conflict with the legalization of Batasuna, the left wing nationalist party. The "Parties's Law" ("Ley de Partidos") was always a useless instrument, an agreement between the PP (Partido Popular / Popular Party) and the PSOE (Partido Socialista Obrero Español / Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), but now it's clearly an obstacle.
Slow days, but there's a big reward after the travel: peace.

Greg Chako no es muy conocido en Argentina, de hecho estuvo por un buen tiempo viviendo y viajando a lo largo de Asia, especialmente Japón llevando su particular estilo de tocar la guitarra a una gran cantidad de seguidores.
Ahora está regresando a los Estados Unidos, por primera vez en seis años.
Aliento a todos ustedes a visitar su página en internet, para verificar las fechas de los shows en Estados Unidos, y también para conocer un poco más sobre este guitarrista, especialmente dotado, en una época donde es difícil encontrar gente con semejante devoción por su arte.
En Argentina, aún necesitamos esperar para escuchar a Greg Chako en vivo, pero no perdemos las esperanzas.


Greg Chako it's not well known in Argentina, in fact he was for a long time living and travelling throughout Asia, specially Japan, taking his particular guitar playing style to a big amount of followers.
Now he's going back to the United States, for the first time in six years.
I encourage all of you to visit his website, to check for the United Sates show dates, and also to know a little more about this guitar player, specially gifted, in a time when it's hard to find people with such devotion for his art.
In Argentina, we still need to wait to listen Greg Chako live, but we don't lose our hopes.
