El momento para el festival oficial de lanzamiento de The Brooklyn Jazz Underground está aquí. Este domingo, enero 14, 2007, 20:30 hs., Anne Mette Iversen estará tocando junto a lo Mejor del Oeste, su proyecto que incluye un cuarteto de jazz y un cuarteto de cuerdas.
El lugar: Smalls Jazz Club (W10th & 7th Ave, Manhattan), y para ser honesto, la música de esta gente es bastante nueva para mi, Anne Mette Iversen fue la "destapadora de oídos" hace algunos meses, y estoy realmente agradecido a Anne Mette.
Entonces únanse a esta talentosa contrabajista y compositora en la presentación del domingo, la buena música está garantizada.

El asesinato de Saddam Hussein se está convirtiendo en parte de las viejas noticias, ya no es más un hecho terrible, es sólo un titular desvaneciéndose, día tras día.
Estoy contra la pena de muerte, aún para un dictador, como Saddam Hussein, pero esta situación es irreal, incluyendo el juicio, lleno de agujeros contra la justicia, y detrás, el gobierno títere de Irak, con dos manos dirigiendo la "mise en scène", los gobiernos de los Estados Unidos e Inglaterra.
The Independent, el siempre interesante periódico británico, y su brillante periodista Robert Fisk, fueron lo mejor allí fuera, hablando sobre este trágico evento, artículos como "A dictator created then destroyed by America" ("Un dictador creado y luego destruido por América") y

Si después de mi comentario de la última semana están pensando: ¿dónde puedo escuchar a Roxana Amed?, bueno mis amigos, tengo la respuesta.
Cada sábado, enero 2007, 21:30 hs., en Notorious (Callao 966, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina), Roxana Amed estará compartiendo con nosotros su último disco: "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), y seguramente algo de el anterior: "Limbo" (EMI, 2004). Pero ella no va a enfrentar sola a la audiencia, con su voz y su guitarra, tomen nota de los músicos de su banda: Claudio "Coki" Iuliano y Sebastián Espósito en guitarras, Fernando Galimany en contrabajo y Mario Gusso en percusión.
Como pueden ver el verano no envía toda la buena música, y músicos, a la playa, algunos de ellos están aquí para hacer nuestra vida más agradable.

As you can see summer doesn't send all the good music, and musicians, to the beach, some of them are here to make our life a more pleasant.

Diego Armando Estacio: la búsqueda terminó / Diego Armando Estacio: the search is over
El cadáver de Diego Armando Estacio, 19 años, de Ecuador, fue encontrado hace unas horas por los equipos de rescate en el Aeropuerto de Barajas (Madrid, España). El estaba desaparecido desde el último sábado, después de la explosión de la bomba en el aeropuerto.
El sentimiento de tristeza es el mismo que en la muerte de Carlos Alonso Palate, también el cariño para toda su familia y amigos.
El proceso de paz enfrenta ahora el más duro de los desafíos.
The dead body from Diego Armando Estacio, 19 years old, from Ecuador, was found a few hours ago by the rescue teams at the Barajas Airport (Madrid, Spain). He was missing since the last saturday, after the bomb explosion at the airport.
The feeling of sadness is the same as in the Carlos Alonso Palate's dead, also the love for all his family and friends.
