Batasuna: el camino hacia la paz es más claro / Batasuna: the way to peace it's clearer

Esta noche, el juez Fernando Grande-Marlaska ha decidido liberar a Arnaldo Otegui, y a siete miembros más de Batasuna, un partido Vasco de izquierda, de los cargos en su contra: "amenazas terroristas".
Este juez estaba equivocado desde el principio del proceso, y especialmente después de la última semana, con las palabras de reconocimiento de Angel Acebes (Secretario General del PP -Partido Popular-), hablando sobre un "hombre maravilloso" llamado: Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
Ahora, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, hizo una "reparación" de último minuto, espero pueda entender que la justicia, aún en su completa independencia, debe estar en contacto con la realidad de nuestro tiempo, me refiero al tiempo histórico de cada sociedad.
Un proceso de paz es un largo camino, no es un gran descubrimiento de mi parte, sólo una mirada hacia atrás, la historia es un gran maestro.
Pero, cada día, hay un sendero más claro, y gente, de Euskadi y España, lista para enfrentar el desafío. Cuidado con aquellos trabajando en el sentido contrario.



Tonight, the judge Fernando Grande-Marlaska has decided to free Arnaldo Otegui, and seven members more from Batasuna, a left wing Basque party, from the charges against them:"terrorist threats".
This judge was wrong since the start of the process, and specially after last week, with the words of acknowledgement from Angel Acebes (General Secretary from the PP -Partido Popular-), talking about a "wonder man" called: Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
Now, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, made a last minute "fix", I hope he can understand that the justice, even in its full independence, must be in touch with the reality of our time, I mean the historical time from each society.
A peace process is a long road, it's not a great discovery from me, just a look behind, history it's a great teacher.
But, everyday, there's a clearer path, and people, from Euskadi and Spain, ready to face the challenge. Beware of the ones working in the wrong way.

Roberto Magris: desde Italia, el mejor jazz / Roberto Magris: from Italy, the best jazz

El pianista Roberto Magris, ahora mejor conocido en el mundo del jazz, especialmente fuera de Europa, pues allí es una figura familiar desde los años setenta.
En la última semana de junio, y la primera de julio, aquí, en Argentina, el estará tocando en vivo.
Dos shows, en algunos de los más importantes sitios del mundo del jazz de Buenos Aires, "Thelonious" y "Notorious".

The pianist Roberto Magris, now better known in the jazz scene, specially outside Europe, because there he's a familiar figure since the seventies.
In the last week of june, and the first of july, here, in Argentina, he'll be playing live.
Two shows, in some of the more importants places of the Buenos Aires's jazz world, "Thelonious" and "Notorious".

Una breve nota sobre Ken Loach. Es extraño, en estos días de películas horribles, sin una sola idea, ver a un director tratando de hacernos pensar. Si, pensar, que maravillosa palabra.
La Palme d'Or en Cannes, por mejor película ("The wind that shakes the barley", algo así como "El viento que sacude la cebada"), es sólo un letrero en una larga ruta, Ken Loach merece mucho más, especialmente un poco más de atención de todos nosotros. Como me gusta decir, a la gente que creo es importante para nuestra sociedad: gracias Ken, gracias por tus películas...



A brief note about Ken Loach. It's strange, in these days of horrible movies, with no a single good idea, to see a director trying to make us think. Yes, think, what a wonderful word.
The Palme d'Or at Cannes, for best film ("The wind that shakes the barley"), it's just a sign in a long road, Ken Loach deserves much more, specially a little more attention from all of us. Like I like to say, to the people I believe it's important for our society: thanks Ken, thanks for your films...

ahotsak, juntas por la paz / ahotsak, together for peace

Después de mi amargo último artículo, me gustaría compartir buenas noticias.
Un grupo de mujeres de Euskadi están trabajando, desde hace un par de meses, en un interesante proyecto, la idea es apoyar el proceso de paz en el país, desde diferentes perspectivas sociales y políticas. Es triste, el PP (Partido Popular) no esta allí, en ahotsak. Pero para todas las mujeres involucradas, todo mi apoyo y buenos deseos.

After my bitter last article, I would like to share some good news.
A group of women from Euskadi are working, since a couple of months, in an interesting proyect, the idea is to support the peace process in the country, from different social and political perspectives. It's sad, the PP (Partido Popular) it's not there, in ahotsak. But for all the women involved, all my support and good wishes.
