Aún con su titulo cercano a la oscuridad, "Autumnalia" puede también mostrarnos algo de espacio para el optimismo.
"Elsabella" es una puerta abierta al jazz de tiempos que dejamos atrás, y una buena oportunidad para recordar que debemos mantener, como una vez dijo Dizzy Gillespie: “un pie en el pasado y un pie en el futuro.”
Un suave aire funk nos toca en "Crab Canon".
"Fyrir Brynhildi" es una invitación a una lenta danza en el atardecer, con Sunna Gunnlaugs mostrando el camino a ser seguido por sus socios en el trío.
"Safe from the World" tiene un extraño, y mágico aire Latino.
"Diamonds on the Inside", creciendo hacia la felicidad.
"Not What But How", una maravillosa y no respondida pregunta musical.
"Vicious World", echando un profundo vistazo dentro de nosotros mismos, antes del adiós.
Después de todo, una grabación de jazz repleta de sorpresas, interesante desde el mismo comienzo del proyecto, finalmente realizado gracias a fondos recaudados en Kickstarter, y con tres estupendos músicos en la cumbre de su arte.
First of all I need to send a big, big apology to my dear Sunna Gunnlaugs, that amazing and talented jazz pianist from Iceland, she sent me this album almost a year ago. All I can say in my defence, well, it was a complicated year, still is, but music, specially as the high quality compositions you'll find here, must be listened and enjoyed everywhere.

The beautiful interaction between Sunna Gunnlaugs and bassist Þorgrímur Jónsson in "Thema"'s introduction, will take us on a magical trip to the Iceland shores.
Even with its close to dark title,"Autumnalia" can shows some space for optimism too.
