Vengan y únanse a nosotros este sábado a las 14:00 hs. (septiembre 29, 2007) para la interpretación de Vanessa Sheldon, la DOCTORA Sheldon (una de las más jóvenes profesoras de música en el país... Ella es Profesora en College of the Desert - COD -) estará tocando su arpa y presentando su nuevo grupo / nuevo material. El grupo incluye otro arpista y dos guitarristas /cantante / cantautores. Será maravilloso.

Aún estamos realizando videos para la competencia de Fractured Atlas. El tema de Chordata es "COMO CONSTRUIR UN ARTISTA".
El último fin de semana fue grandioso...tuvimos una visita del Sky is Falling Collective, un grupo de artistas callejeros y músicos... BUENOS artistas (eso es lo esencial)... Ellos vinieron y comenzaron a pintar lo que será el Chordata World HQ (hmmm...¿oficina?)

Los poetas que nos visitaron, Randolph Maxted y Lee Balan están involucrados con un show que se estrenará en el Desert Pride Center este sábado a las 19:00 hs... Llamado "Body Language" ("Lenguaje Corporal") se exhibirá desde el 29/9 al 27/10.

Richard Meyers y Liz Gilbert fueron filmados para el show televisivo de Joey English, hablando de Chordata, Faux Fakes, y las pinturas de Richard. Sale al aire el lunes, octubre 1, en CBS 10 (Time Warner) entre las 11:30 hs. y las 12:30 hs.

Come join us this saturday at 2 pm (september 29, 2007) on for a performance by Vanessa Sheldon, DOCTOR Sheldon (one of the youngest music professors in the country... She is a Prof at College of the Desert - COD -) will be playing her harp and introducing her new group / new material . The group includes another harpist and 2 guitarist / singer / songwriters. Should be wonderful.

We are still making videos for the Fractured Atlas competition. Chordata's theme is "HOW TO BUILD AN ARTIST".
Last weekend was great...we had a visit from members of the Sky is Falling Collective, a group of street artists and musicians...GOOD artists (that's the main thing)...They came out and began to paint what will be Chordata's WORLD HQ (hmmm...office?).

Visiting poets Randolph Maxted and Lee Balan are involved with a show opening at the Desert Pride Center this Saturday evening at 7 pm... Called "Body Language" it runs 9/29 - 10/27. Information: 760 327 2313

Richard Meyers and Liz Gilbert taped the Joey English Television show, talking about Chordata, Faux Fakes, and Richard's painting . This airs on monday , october 1, on CBS 10 (Time Warner) between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Para algunas personas el arte debe estar en los museos, la música en una sala de concierto, eso no es algo espantoso, pero si aman el arte como una energía vital y cambiante, únanse a la experiencia Chordata.

Chordata... ESTUDIO en el Desierto / EXPERIMENTO.

Hola amigos.

Este fin de semana, comenzando en septiembre 21, 2007. Nuestros horarios en este momento, nuevamente, son viernes desde las 20:00 hs. hasta tarde (acampen aquí si lo desean), y sábados desde las 14:00 en adelante...
Estamos invitando a todos a venir y realizar videos de 30 - 60 segundos acerca de la idea: COMO construir un artista!
El mejor será enviado a la competencia de Fractured Atlas (nuestro sponsor fiscal, la fecha límite de entrega, octubre 15).
Fractured Atlas es una gran organización nacional que apoya artistas y organizaciones artísticas.
Ellos han entregado la organización de su competición a Genius Rocket (otra innovadora organización).
Los videos DEBEN incluir el logo de Fractured Atlas, la dirección en internet, y las palabras "libere al artista".
Estamos haciendo esto como una forma de recaudar fondos para Chordata, entonces dejen volar su imaginación, pero traten de planificar su video para que requiera la mínima edición posible (recuerden: 60 segundos MAX). Pueden utilizar el espacio y materiales que tenemos aquí, disponemos de una buena cámara mini DV, así como capacidad para editar y registrar, etc... También pueden traer su propio equipamiento si lo tienen. Mostremos que es lo que el desierto tiene para ofrecer! Estaremos haciendo esto también el próximo fin de semana.

Liz Gilbert está también haciendo un llamado a todos los músicos para el lanzamiento de la Desert Audio Sapiens Band. Ella está imaginando un gran ensamble, como un experimento abierto (sin fronteras / sin límites), con un proyecto específico en mente. Aún necesitamos ayuda armando el Estudio Logic, y muchísmas otras cosas!

El sábado 29 de septiembre, 2007, a las 14:00 hs, en el Estudio Chordata, Dr. Vanessa Sheldon (la talentosa joven arpista y profesora en el College of the Desert - COD -) estará presentando nuevo material con su nuevo grupo (que incluye otro arpista y dos cantantes / guitarristas cantautores). Chordata... Desert STUDIO / EXPERIMENT.

Hello friends

This weekend, beginning on september 21, 2007 . Our hours right now, again, are fridays
8 pm til late (camp here if you like), and Saturdays 2pm on...
We're inviting everyone to come and make 30-60 second videos around the idea : HOW To build an artist!
The best will be submitted to Fractured Atlas's (our fiscal sponsor, the competition deadline, october 15).
Fractured Atlas is a great national organization which supports artists and arts organizations.
They have just turned their competition over to Genius Rocket (another innovative organization).
The videos MUST incorporate the Fractured Atlas logo, web address, and tagline "liberate the artist".
We're doing this as a fundraiser for Chordata, so let your imagination run wild, but try to plan your video to require minimal editing (remember: 60 seconds MAX). You can use the space, materials here, we have a good mini dv cam , editing and capture capabilities etc.... You can bring your own gear if you have it too. Let's show what the desert has to offer ! We'll be doing this next weekend too.

Liz Gilbert is also launching the Desert Audio Sapiens Band open call to musicians. She's envisioning a big ensemble, as an open experiment (no borders/no limits), with a specific project in mind. We still need help setting up the Logic Studio, and a ton of other things!
