euskir music: un paso firme para seguir adelante / euskir music: a firm step to go ahead

Los shows del talentoso pianista Irio Jr. en Argentina, hace unas semanas, fueron el último enlace al viejo modelo de euskir music.

No se preocupen, nada terrible ocurrirá, sólo un ligero cambio para mantener el proyecto vivito y coleando.

Aún sin fines de lucro, por supuesto, pero de ahora en adelante estaré alcanzando alguna clase de acuerdo previo con los músicos con quienes trabajo, la opción será un trato para recibir una pequeña suma de dinero para reinvertir en euskir music, un porcentaje de una presentación en vivo (obviamente si estuve involucrado para conseguirla, también trabajando en la prensa para el evento) o de las ganancias por las ventas de un álbum (nuevamente, sólo si he estado involucrado en el proceso de producción, o proporcionando servicios de prensa y relaciones públicas).

En cualquier caso, la idea básica es recibir una compensación mínima, y de una u otra forma, el beneficio será para los mismos músicos.

No estoy contento en un 100% con esta situación, pero de momento, sin ninguna clase de apoyo adicional, sería imposible mantener vivo a euskir music.

The shows from the talented pianist Irio Jr. in Argentina, a few weeks ago, were the last link to euskir music's old model.

Don't you worry, nothing terrible will happen, just a slight change to keep the project alive and kicking.

Still non profit, of course, but from now on I'll be reaching some kind of previous arrangement with the musicians I'm working with, the option will be a deal to receive a very small amount of money to reinvest in euskir music, a percentage from a live presentation (obviously if I were involved to get it, also working on the press for the event) or a record sale revenue (again, just if I'd been involved in the production process, or providing press and public relations service).

In any case, the basic idea is to receive a minimal compensation, and one way or another, the benefit will be for the musicians themselves.

I'm not 100% happy with this situation, but at this moment, without any kind of additional support, it would be impossible to keep euskir music alive.

euskir music: el final del camino / euskir music: the end of the road

Bueno, hace algunas horas la dura decisión fue tomada, la campaña de financiamiento de la última semana fue un absoluto desastre y la última gota para comprender que no hay razón para mantener a euskir music con vida, no está funcionando, al menos no de acuerdo a mi idea original, y necesito cambiar mi enfoque hacia otras cosas, muy importantes asuntos en una crítica situación personal.

Quiero decir gracias, gracias a todos los músicos, clubes de música, amantes de la buena música, ellos fueron muy importantes durante estos tres años de "actividad subterránea" de euskir music, y esenciales en los últimos meses, compartiendo y apoyando los movimientos de euskir music "sobre la superficie".

Por supuesto, porque yo soy Federico Antin, el alma, corazón y cerebro de euskir music, de alguna manera la idea vivirá tanto tiempo como mi vida continúe, algunos buenos momentos fueron lo suficientemente importantes para mantener las lecciones de estos años siempre a mano, fue una maravillosa experiencia.

Estaré cerca, los mejores, deseos, como siempre, y gracias por compartir y difundir la buena música...


Well, just a few hours ago the tough decision was taken, last week funding campaign was a total disaster and the last drop to understand that there's no reason to keep euskir music alive, it's not working, at least not according to my original idea, and I need to change my focus toward other things, very important matters in a very critical personal situation.

I want to say thanks, thanks to all the musicians, music clubs, good music lovers, they were very important during the three years of euskir music "underground activity", and essential in the last months, sharing and supporting euskir music's movements "over the surface".

Of course, because I'm Federico Antin, the soul, heart and brain of euskir music, somehow the idea will live as long as my life goes on, some good moments were important enough to keep the lessons from these years always at hand, it was a wonderful experience.

Desde mi primer artículo aquí, en agosto 9, 2009, y especialmente mirando hacia atrás a los tres años de euskir music en "modo subterráneo", euskir music está enfrentando su peor momento.

Obviamente esto no está funcionando como una organización sin fines de lucro, quiero decir, el modelo no está caminando, está trabado, y euskir music, aún cuando hay gente ayudándome, especialmente la única e incomparable Liz Gilbert, toda la operación está basicamente sobre mis hombros, cada pequeña cosa, de la primera a la última letra en estos artículos, manteniendo vivas las cuentas de Facebook and Twitter como herramientas útiles, y, la tarea principal, ayudar a músicos y espacios independientes en todo el mundo a difundir el mensaje de la buena música, y, como creo firmemente que no importa el negocio, tienda, organización sin fines de lucro, deben mantener sus emociones como parte del alma en todos sus proyectos, entonces, si están bien, personalmente, genial, pero si no están ta bien, bueno, si, no buenas noticias realmente.

Entonces, tiempo de repensar, como he dicho antes, por supuesto mantengo todas las palabras de mi artículo anterior en su sitio, ese es un problema y una bendición, mantengo también la libertad creativa, para nosotros, para los músicos y espacios con los que trabajamos, y especialmente, para todos los amantes de la buena música (como pueden ver estas son las mismas palabras de mi artículo anterior), pero a partir de este momento necesito encontrar la manera de conseguir algo para mantener vivo este proyecto: dinero, porque mi alma, corazón y cabeza están repletos de buenos sueños, pero mis bolsillos están vacíos

Entonces, permanezcan conectados, trataré de mantener abiertos los canales de comunicación, pero ahora con todas las limitaciones que se euskir music tiene.

Since my first article here, on august 9, 2009, and specially looking back to the first three years of euskir music on "underground mode", right now euskir music it's facing its worst moment.

Obviously this is not working as a non profit organization, I mean, the model it's not walking, it's stuck, and euskir music, even when there's people helping me, specially the one and only Liz Gilbert, the whole operation it's basically over my shoulders, each little thing, from the first to the last letter in these articles, keeping alive the Facebook and Twitter accounts as useful tools, and, the main task, to help independent musicians and spaces all over the world to spread the message of good music, and, as I firmly believe that no matter the business, store, nonprofit organization, you must keep your emotions as part of the soul in all your projects, so, if you're fine, personally, great, but if you're not so good, well, yes, not good news really.

So, time to rethink, as I said before, of course I keep all the words from my previous article in its place, that's a problem and a blessing, I'll keep too the creative freedom, for us, for the musicians and places we work with, and specially, for all good music lovers around the world (as you can see those are the same words from my previous article), but from this moment on I need to find a way to get something to keep this project alive: money, because my soul, heart and head are full of good dreams, but my pockets are empty.

Then, stay connected, I'll try to keep the communication channels open, but now with all the limitations I know euskir music has.

Puedo decir que estoy enamorado, como verán en el próximo artículo, con la utilización de una metáfora comparando la escena musical de estos días con un desierto, y cada interesante nuevo artista con agua fresca para sobrevivir en ese desierto, no una tarea fácil.

Ese es uno de los objetivos principales de euskir music, hacer más fácil para todos ustedes el acceso a la música de excelentes músicos que no están en el ojo de los medios masivos, y algunas veces ni siquiera en muchos medios independientes.

Hasta el momento sólo estoy trabajando con cuatro artistas, en diferentes niveles, y para mantener este trabajo vivito y coleando, y para ayudar a más músicos, necesito de su apoyo, si, el apoyo del amante de la buena música promedio.

I can say that I'm in love, as you'll see in the next article, with the use of a metaphor comparing the music scene from these days with a desert, and each interesting new artist with fresh water to survive in that desert, not an easy task.
