Melanie De Biasio: hermosa música... / Melanie De Biasio: beautiful music...

Hace algunos días estaba hablando con un amigo sobre la falta de "frescura" en la escena musical, y un ejemplo de lo opuesto vino a mi mente: Melanie De Biasio (julio 12, 1978, Charleroi, Bélgica. Desconozco que está comiendo la gente de Bélgica, pero hay una extraordinaria cantidad de grandes artistas viniendo de allí en estos días).
Su voz puede ser tierna, algunas veces cercana a sentimientos de desesperanza y pena, y arriba nuevamente, gracias a una maravillosa noción del ritmo.
Un comentario especial sobre los talentosos músicos a su alrededor, en su último disco: "A stomach is burning" ("Un estómago está ardiendo") (Igloo, 2007), pueden encontrar a Pascal Mohy en piano, Teun Verbruggen en batería, Axel Gilain en contrabajo, Pascal Paulus en Wurlitzer, Clavinet, Hammond, y como invitado especial, Steve Houben en flauta y saxo.
Entonces, si están cansados de la chatura de la música de hoy en día, hay una excelente oportunidad para disfrutar de Melanie De Biasio, y su interesante, y hermoso punto de vista, sobre una música que llamamos jazz, pero, con la música de Melanie De Biasio, siempre hay algo más, y no hay tiempo para tontas etiquetas musicales.


Some days ago I was talking with a friend about the lack of "freshness" in the music scene, and an example from the opposite came to my mind: Melanie De Biasio (july 12, 1978, Charleroi, Belgium. I don't know what the people of Belgium are eating, but there's an extraordinary amount of great artists coming from there these days).
Her voice can be tender, sometimes close to feelings of despair and sorrow, and up again, thanks to a wonderful conception of rhythm.
A special comment about the talented musicians around her, in her last record: "A stomach is burning" (Igloo, 2007), you can find Pascal Mohy on piano, Teun Verbruggen on drums, Axel Gilain on double bass, Pascal Paulus on Wurlitzer, Clavinet, Hammond, and as special guest, Steve Houben on flute and saxophone.
So, if you're tired of the flatness of today's music, there's an excellent chance to enjoy Melanie De Biasio, and her interesting, and beautiful point of view, about a music we call jazz, but, with Melanie De Biasio's music, there's always something more, and no time for silly music labels.

Como pueden ver, un interesante show para amantes de la buena música.
