El año pasado conocí una excelente banda de jazz de Chile, llamada Lost 4, y desde hace unos meses su guitarrista, Alvaro Zavala, esta viviendo en Argentina, entonces, tenenemos la oportunidad de escuchar su música más a menudo, como este domingo 21, octubre 2007, 21:00 hs., en El Perro Andaluz (Bolívar 852, San Telmo, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), con un nuevo quinteto.
Los otros integrantes de esta banda son Melissa Aldana (Chile) en saxo tenor (ella también estaba en Lost 4, y su sonido es asombroso como su talento), Juan David Mojica (Colombia) en saxo tenor, Simón Gatica (Chile) en bajo y René Gatica (Chile) en batería.
Maravillosa música para sobrevivir a la tristeza del domingo.


Last year I knew and excellent jazz band from Chile, called Lost 4, and since some months ago his guitar player, Alvaro Zavala, it's living in Argentina, so, we've got the chance to listen his music more often, like this sunday 21, october 2007, 9 pm, at El Perro Andaluz (Bolívar 852, San Telmo, Autonomic City of Buenos Aires), with a new quintet.
The other members from this band are Melissa Aldana (Chile) on tenor sax (she was also on Lost 4, and his sound it's amazing as her talent), Juan David Mojica (Colombia) on tenor sax, Simón Gatica (Chile) on bass and René Gatica (Chile) on drums.
Wonderful music to survive the sunday's sadness.

Noticias de último momento. Derviche estará tocando este sábado 20, otubre 2007, 22.30 hs., en el Centro Barrial “El Transformador” (Caseros 200 esq. Llavallol, Haedo, Buenos Aires, Argentina).
En lugar de una entrada, un alimento no perecedero, para colaborar con el centro comunitario, y pueden comer y beber allí, ofreciendo una ayuda adicional al lugar.
Después del show, pueden dejar algo, a voluntad, buena voluntad, para sostener este proyecto musical.
Suena bien para mi, una maravillosa causa, y excelente música, para apoyar nuestro arte y nuestra comunidad.


Last minute news. Derviche will be playing this saturday 20, october 2007, 10:30 pm, at “El Transformador” Community Center (Caseros 200, Caseros and Llavallol, Haedo, Buenos Aires, Argentina).
Instead of a ticket, a non-perishable food, to collaborate with the communtiny center, and you can eat and drink there, giving an additional help to the place.
After the show, you can leave something, at will, goodwill, to sustain this musical project.
Sounds good to me, a wonderful cause, and excellent music, to support our art and our community.

Cine Cosmos / Cosmos Movie Theater

Si aman las buenas películas, como yo, y si viven en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, o cerca, el Cine Cosmos es parte de nuestra historia. Ahora, llamado Cosmos Espacio Cultural, pero para la mayor parte de nosotros sólo el Cine Cosmos, o más simple, "el Cosmos".
El Gobierno de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires decidió cerrar el lugar ayer, invocando alguna oscura falta de orden en los papeles de habilitación, una situación realmente extraña.
Fundado por Argentino Vainikoff en 1929, "el Cosmos" fue, y es aún, un refugio para la clase de películas que difícilmente encontrarán en las salas de cine comercial, manteniendo siempre una gran calidad en la selección de películas, ahora gracias al hijo de Argentino Vainikoff', Luis Vainikoff.
Deseo, con todo mi corazón, una pronta respuesta a esta ridícula e injusta situación, no podemos darnos el lujo de asesinar nuestra propia tradición cultural.


If you love the good movies, like me, and if you live in Autonomic City of Buenos Aires, or close, the Cosmos Movie Theater it's part of our history. Now, called Cosmos Cultural Space, but for most of us just the Cosmos Movie Theater, or simpler, "the Cosmos".
The Government of the Autonomic City of Buenos Aires decided to close the place yesterday, invoking some obscure lack of order in the habilitation papers, a really strange situation.
Founded by Argentino Vainikoff in 1929, "the Cosmos" was, and still is, a refuge for the kind of films hardly you will find in the commercial movie theaters, keeping always a great quality in the selection of movies, now thanks to Argentino Vainikoff's son, Luis Vainikoff.
I wish, with all my heart, a fast answer to this ridiculous and unfair situation, we can't afford the luxury to kill our own cultural tradition.

A couple of months ago someone sent me a couple of songs from Marina Carrera (Adamantino's singer), this time singing jazz, an interesting approach, and now all of you can enjoy the experience, called 722 Jazz Quintet.
