I've got a good job since 2011, not the perfect job, but we know that's a pretty strange thing in the world today.
For several reasons I want to make a change, and I need all the help you can give.
If you know me well, my main experience is on the communications field (advertising, radio,TV,movies, music, music management, cultural management), specially on the creative areas, but I can deal with other aspects too.
Of course I understand, not only Argentina, the whole world, is right know involved in a very complicated situation for people searching for any kind of job, so if you think there's a job outside my field, but I'm able to work on it, you can count with me.

Tengo un buen trabajo desde 2011, no es el trabajo perfecto, pero sabemos que esa es una cosa bastante extraña en el mundo de hoy.
Por varias razones quiero hacer un cambio, y necesito toda la ayuda que puedan dar.
Si me conocen bien, mi principal experiencia es en el campo de las comunicaciones (publicidad, radio, televisión, cine, música, management de músicos, gestión cultural), especialmente en las áreas creativas, pero puedo tratar con otros aspectos también.
Por supuesto comprendo, no sólo Argentina, todo el mundo, está en este momento involucrado en una situación muy complicada para personas en busca de cualquier tipo de trabajo, por lo que si ustedes piensan que hay un trabajo fuera de mi campo, pero soy capaz de trabajar en él, pueden contar conmigo.

euskir’s txoko: Hello, again / Hola, nuevamente

For many years euskir’s txoko was an interesting corner for people searching a place to discover the independent art, specially music, even without activity I can see each week a good amount from that people visiting euskir’s txoko, so, this is the right time to say hello, again.

I don’t know if my free time will be enough to develop what I want to do now in this space, but I’ll try, the first step will be to talk about several wonderful albums, from today, and also from yesterday… I don’t pay to much attention to the words “past” and “present”, because one of the main ideas in euskir’s txoko is to keep the good independent art alive.

My friends, everyone is invited, as always, welcome back to me, and welcome back to euskir’s txoko.


Por muchos años euskir’s txoko fue un rincón interesante para gente buscando un lugar para descubrir el arte independiente, especialmente música, aun sin actividad puedo ver cada semana una buena cantidad de esa gente visitando euskir’s txoko, entonces, este es el momento indicado para decir hola, nuevamente.

No se si mi tiempo libre será suficiente para desarrollar lo que quiero hacer ahora en este espacio, pero lo intentaré, el primer paso será hablar sobre varios maravillosos discos, de hoy, y también de ayer… No presto demasiada atención a las palabras “pasado” y “presente”, porque una de las principales ideas en euskir’s txoko es mantener el buen arte independiente vivo.

Sometimes I don't know what to think, because I believe some people, even those involved in the independent art scene, doesn't understand the importance to support our community and projects.

Algunas veces no se que pensar, porque creo que algunas personas, aún aquellos involucrados en el ambiente del arte independiente, no comprenden la importancia de apoyar a nuestra comunidad y proyectos.

Message in a bottle

I will call this a "message in a bottle", just an idea, a crazy one? Who knows.

Someone out there has some information about any organization, public, private, even a culture ministry from some country, with enough freedom to give support, just a small one, to The Positive Ghetto?, and going even further, to give the project a physical place of residence.

I know many, many cultural organizations, from previous projects I was involved, but this time I’m opening all the paths to use the social networks and my contacts in the cultural field the best possible way.

I believe The Positive Ghetto has the quality and the strength to be a worldwide center to help good art to connect and survive.

I'm thinking in Europe, the USA, I know about the crisis, everywhere, but, crazier things have happened.

Voy a llamar a esto un "mensaje en una botella", una idea, una loca idea? Quién sabe.

¿Alguien allí fuera tiene alguna información acerca de cualquier organización, pública, privada, incluso un ministerio de cultura de algún país, con la libertad suficiente para dar apoyo, sólo uno pequeño, a The Positive Ghetto?, y yendo aún más lejos, dar al proyecto un lugar físico de residencia.

Conozco muchas, muchas organizaciones culturales, de proyectos anteriores en los que participé, pero esta vez estoy abriendo todos los caminos para utilziar las redes sociales de la mejor manera posible.

Creo que The Positive Ghetto tiene la calidad y la fuerza para ser un centro mundial para ayudar el buen arte a conectarse y sobrevivir.

Estoy pensando en Europa o los EE.UU., sé sobre la crisis, en todas partes, pero, cosas más locas han ocurrido.

First steps

Somehow the first steps from The Positive Ghetto are the last steps from euskir music.
Do you know euskir music? Do you remember that project?

euskir music was an idea to give a good hand to independent musicians, music and cultural management without any charge for the musician, and in some cases a service for some music festivals and venues too.
The money to support it? From my own pocket, some coming from free lance jobs related to communications services, and sometimes coming from non profit organizations, as euskir music itself.
It was fine for a couple of years, but at some point it was impossible to keep it alive, some problem with an international festival was the last drop of poison to kill my beloved project.

The Positive Ghetto is aiming to the same direction, independent art, not only music, of course music will be the main interest, because is the field I know much better, but I think to open as many doors as possible.

There’s a basic difference, the way to sustain the project alive and kicking, without any problem.
For specific works, a charge, an arrangement with the artist or the person interested in my help, this is a non profit organization, I’m not pretending to take 50% of nobody’s profit, just a little help to keep the wheels rolling.
And the other option is to use the PayPal button you can see at right, if you love independent art, and specially if you know me, and my honest work to help artists from any country, genre, or style, add a contribution, small, middle, big, just as much as you can, I know these hard times are not easy for our wallets, but one coin here, another there, that will be enough.

My friends, well, you know me, and if you don’t, just ask someone who knows me, “good art must survive” isn’t just a catchy slogan, is a goal, and alone, I just can’t do it.

Good art must survive

Ghettos are linked to many stories, of life and death, comedy and tragedy, and even in the worst times, the sense of community is very alive in the ghetto.

Is more than clear than the enemy is outside, so the ghetto, as a big family, try to solve all the problems, big and small, always as a whole entity.

The Positive Ghetto is a worldwide project, very ambitious, as most projects, but knowing well we're facing hard times, so patience must be a main tool here.

I'm not the usual "music business guy", not even for the independent scene, because thanks to my great working experience I can reach cultural management areas beyond the activity as creative consultant for artists and cultural spaces, like press, public relations, festival and music venues, and also a good hand at online presence (websites, blogs, social networks), and many other art related matters coming from the open interchange of ideas between you and me.

Art is the key, from my side essentially music, but The Positive Ghetto is open to any independent artistic activity, from movies to literature, paintings to graphic design and photography, to be clear, all art forms are welcome, because we're always looking for a way to get people together, to find the energy in common ground, and to share our knowledge, in every artistic field.

No limits, no horizon, no selfishness, just one direction, because everyone at The Positive Ghetto knows one thing, good art must survive.

Desde octubre 18, 2010, estamos compartiendo un espacio especial en la radio con Ricardo Antin, en UB 90.9 FM, una colaboración con este reconocido profesional de la publicidad y los medios (también autor de novelas, poesía, teatro), en una fantástica idea para disfrutar bandas de sonido originales y versiones de canciones de la más maravillosa música para cine.

Pueden escuchar el programa de lunes a viernes, 10:00 a 10:30 hs. (ese es el horario local, si no se encuentran en Argentina -3 GMT), at UB 90.9 FM, si se encuentran en Argentina, pero en todo el mundo en el website de la radio.

Esta es la radio de una universidad, la Universidad de Belgrano, algo que nos encanta, porque hay algo muy especial en esta clase de medio.

Ricardo Antin fue invitado a unirse al equipo de la radio por el hombre que está construyendo un gran concepto profesional y artístico dentro de la UB 90.9 FM , Luis Garibotti, desde hace muchos años uno de los hombres más importantes en la escena de la radio Argentina.

Since october 18, 2010, we're sharing a special space at the radio with Ricardo Antin, at UB 90.9 FM, a collaboration with this well known professional from the advertising and the media (also an author of novels, poetry, theater), in a fantastic idea to enjoy original film soundtracks and songs versions from the most wonderful music for the movies.

You can listen the show from monday to friday, 10:00 to 10:30 am (that's the local time, if you're not in Argentina -3 GMT) at UB 90.9 FM, if you're in Argentina, but worldwide in the radio website.

This is a radio from a university, the University of Belgrano, something we love, because there's something very special in this kind of media.

Ricardo Antin was invited to join the team of the radio by the man who's building a great professional and artistic concept inside the UB 90.9 FM , Luis Garibotti, since many years ago one of the most important men in Argentinean radio scene.

De tanto en tanto las redes sociales son realmente mágicas, sitios muy útiles para refrescar nuestra memoria, repentinamente, un amable hombre de Alemania, hijo de inmigrantes Turcos, no es sólo otro nombre en internet, él es el talentoso músico Ali N. Askin.

Como le dije a él, "si, conozco tu trabajo", pero con toda la información en nuestras pequeñas cabezas dejamos mucha música detrás, música maravillosa, sólo para hacer espacio a la increíble cantidad de arte que queremos absorber.

Entonces, este encuentro en Twitter, fue lo suficientemente bueno para regresar a la música e historia de Ali N. Askin, una muy rica, desde su comienzo trabajando en un número de diferentes bandas y proyectos como pianista, tecladista y compositor, también moderador de radio, copista, editor, profesor de música y portero nocturno, a un especial momento en su carrera, de 1991 a 1993, como asistente de Frank Zappa para el proyecto "The Yellow Shark" (con el Ensemble Modern).

Más tarde, su colaboración con el brillante compositor y director Heiner Goebbels, en el proyecto orquestal "Surrogate Cities", y el trabajo de musica de teatro "Die Wiederholung".

El ha aparecido como artista invitado (teclados) en presentaciones con varias orquestas (Bochum Symphony, BBC Scottish Orchestra, etc.) y teatros (TAT Frankfurt, Hebbel Theater Berlin, ATEM Nanterre / Paris, Theaterfestival Zürich, etc.).

Ali N. Askin tiene una pasión especial por la radio, televisión y cine, compuso y produjo la música y el diseño de sonido para el documental "Ratten" (ARTE / WDR), que fue premiado con el Grimme Prize en 1999.

Del rock, jazz, funk, contemporánea, a música electrónica y electroacústica.

Un músico abriendo espacios, una bella tarea, tristemente no muchos músicos están siguiendo ese sendero estos días, esa es la razón por la que estoy hablando aquí sobre Ali N. Askin, alentando a todos ustedes a prestar atención, abrir sus corazones, almas y oídos, para beber de esta música, como agua fresca en el desierto...


From time to time social networks are really magical, very useful places to refresh our memory, suddenly, a gentle man from Germany, son of Turkish immigrants, isn't just another name on internet, he is the talented musician Ali N. Askin.

Una excelente elección para cerrar este mes Virasoro After Dark, dedicado a la música de Franz Waxman.
No desperdicien otro minuto, y hagan su reserva, las buenas películas no están cayendo de los árboles en estos días...

Se que en Virasoro Bar (Guatemala 4328, Palermo, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina), más allá del profundo amor de sus propietarios por la mejor música, existe un muy conocido interés en las más maravillosas películas también, y ahora están reuniendo estas dos formas de arte en un fantástico show llamado "Virasoro After Dark", cada martes por la noche, 21:30 hs.
Cine clásico, si, pero cada mes está dedicado a un compositor de bandas de sonido, fue Max Steiner en abril, en mayo Miklos Rozsa, este mes, junio, Franz Waxman, y las películas, y compositores, espero, continuarán durante todo el año.
Junio, para mi, tiene dos personalmente favoritas, "Fury" (Fritz Lang, 1936, 90'), y la única e incomparable, la película "perfecta" "Sunset Boulevard" (Billy Wilder, 1950, 110'), pero todas las películas incluídas en estas selecciones son excelentes.
Sobre Franz Waxman, bueno, la clase de compositor que no encuentran en el cine de estos días, un verdadero genio.
Entonces, como siempre en Virasoro Bar (Guatemala 4328, Palermo, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina), oídos bien abiertos, pero en esta ocasión, los ojos también...


I know that in Virasoro Bar (Guatemala 4328, Palermo, Autonomic City of Buenos Aires, Argentina), beyond the deep love from their owners for the best music, there's a well known interest in the most wonderful movies too, and now they're joining together this two art forms into a fantastic show called "Virasoro After Dark", each tuesday night, 9:30 pm.
Classic movies, yes, but each month it's dedicated to a soundtrack composer, was Max Steiner on april, on may Miklos Rozsa, this month, june, Franz Waxman, and the movies, and composers, I hope, will continue for the whole year.
June, for me, has two personal favorites, "Fury" (Fritz Lang, 1936, 90'), and the one and only, the "perfect" movie "Sunset Boulevard" (Billy Wilder, 1950, 110'), but all the movies included in these selections are excellent.
About Franz Waxman, well, the kind of composer you don't find in the movies these days, a real genius.

Hace unas pocas semanas un amigo me envió un e-mail con información sobre algunas personas tratando de presentar otra clase de películas, rellenando la brecha de hoy en día en las salas de cine, donde es tan difícil encontrar buenas películas para ver.
Ellos son el Grupo Cínecos, defendiendo lo que ellos llaman "El Otro Cine", ubicados en la maravillosa ciudad de Mar del Plata, una ciudad junto al mar, en la costa de la Provincia de Buenos Aires.
Aliento a todos ustedes a visitar su sitio principal, "El Otro Cine", y aquel en donde pueden ver lo que están mostrando, "Ciclo El Otro Cine".
Ciencia ficción, terror, erótico, bizarro, negro, clase B, son algunos de los géneros que pueden disfrutar, y creo que sería grandioso apoyar a esta clase de grupos, en una época donde la mediocridad está sobre la creatividad en el mundo del arte.


A few weeks ago a friend sent me an e-mail with information about some people trying to present another kind of movies, filling today's gap in film theaters, when it's so hard to find good movies to see.
They're the Cínecos Group, defending what they call "El Otro Cine" ("The Other Cinema"), located in the wonderful city of Mar del Plata, a town by the sea, in the coast of the Buenos Aires Province.
I encourage all of you to visit their main site, "El Otro Cine" ("The Other Cinema"), and the one where you can see what they're showing, "Ciclo El Otro Cine" ("The Other Cinema Presentation").
Science fiction, horror, erotic, bizarre, noir, B class, are some of the genres you can enjoy, and I believe would be great to support this kind of groups, in a time where mediocrity it's above creativity in the art world.

¿Adiós a euskir's txoko? / Goodbye to euskir's txoko?

Lo se, se lo que algunos de ustedes están pensando: ¿nuevamente?
Mi "primer adiós" fue algo trágico, demasiado triste, no estoy verdaderamente feliz ahora, pero esta es una situación completamente diferente.
En este momento no puedo mantener el "ritmo" de la manera que quiero, y la idea original no fue construir un calendario musical, euskir's txoko, un simple hobbie, escrito y dedicado a difundir el buen arte, no puede sobrevivir sin tomar demasiado tiempo de otras actividades en las que estoy trabajando.
No puedo decir: "está bien, de tanto en tanto estaré aquí escribiendo algo", creo que esa no es una elección seria, pero por supuesto una puerta a la comunicación permanecerá siempre abierta.
Pueden dejar mensajes, echar un vistazo a los enlaces (hay mucho para disfrutar , y trataré de seguir agregando cosas interesantes).
Gacetillas de prensa y todo material de músicos y artistas será bienvenido como es habitual, estaré aquí escuchando, prestando atención, tratando de difundir su maravilloso trabajo, para agregar enlaces, utilizando mi "red oculta", dando una pequeña mano para ayudar.
Gracias a toda la gente que estuvo apoyando euskir's txoko desde el comienzo, no quiero dejar a ninguno fuera, ellos saben quienes son, estoy seguro de eso.

I know, I know what some of you are thinking: again?
My "first goodbye" was kind of tragic, too sad, I'm not really happy now, but this is a completely different situation.
Right now I can't keep the "rhythm" the way I want, and the original idea was not to build a musical calendar, euskir's txoko, a simple hobbie, written and dedicated to spread the good art, can't survive without taking too much time from other activities I'm working on.
I can't say: "it's ok, from time to time I'll be here writing something", I think that's not a serious choice, but of course a door to communication will remain always open.
You can leave messages, take a look to the links (there's a lot to enjoy, and I'll try to keep adding interesting things).
Press releases and all material from musicians and artists will be welcome as usual, I'll be here listening, paying attention, trying to spread your wonderful work, to add links, using my "hidden network", giving a little hand to help.
Thanks to all the people who were supporting euskir's txoko since the beginning, I don't want to leave none out, they know who they are, I'm sure of it.

Sencillo como eso. Ningún discurso pomposo, no señor, no es su estilo. Sólo fijar en mi mente y corazón su talento en el cine, teatro, literatura, en el escenario, o detrás del telón, escribiendo, dirigiendo
Dos películas son para mi una viva descripción de su arte: "Las bicicletas son para el verano" (Jaime Chávarri, 1984) y "El viaje a ninguna parte" (Fernando Fernán Gómez, 1986), la primera también un éxito en el teatro, una hermosamente triste historia sobre el terrible impacto de la Guerra Civil Española en la gente común, la segunda, una conmovedora reflexión sobre el mundo del teatro y la vida.
Vida, como el dijo una vez, más importante que el arte, un fiel anarquista, un luchador por la libertad, bueno, perdón Fernando, me estoy poniendo sentimental, y pomposo, será difícil caminar sin tu "presencia física" cerca nuestro...
Entonces, de vuelta al comienzo, gracias Fernando, gracias por tu arte, y por tu vida...


Simple as that. No pompous speech, no sir, not his style. Just fix in my mind and heart his talent in the movies, theater and literature, on the stage, or behind the curtains, writing, directing.
Two movies are for me a a vivid depiction from his art: "Las bicicletas son para el verano" - "Bicycles are for the summer" - (Jaime Chávarri, 1984) and "El viaje a ninguna parte" - "Voyage to nowhere" - (Fernando Fernán Gómez, 1986), the first one also a success at the theater, a beautifully sad story about the terrible impact from the the Spanish Civil War on the common people, the second one, a poignant reflexion about the word of theater and life.
Life, as he said once, more important that art, a faithful anarchist, a fighter for freedom, well, sorry Fernando, I'm getting sentimental, and pompous, will be hard to walk without your "physical presence" close to us...
Then, back to the beginning, thanks Fernando, thanks for your art, and for your life...

Cine Cosmos / Cosmos Movie Theater

Si aman las buenas películas, como yo, y si viven en la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, o cerca, el Cine Cosmos es parte de nuestra historia. Ahora, llamado Cosmos Espacio Cultural, pero para la mayor parte de nosotros sólo el Cine Cosmos, o más simple, "el Cosmos".
El Gobierno de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires decidió cerrar el lugar ayer, invocando alguna oscura falta de orden en los papeles de habilitación, una situación realmente extraña.
Fundado por Argentino Vainikoff en 1929, "el Cosmos" fue, y es aún, un refugio para la clase de películas que difícilmente encontrarán en las salas de cine comercial, manteniendo siempre una gran calidad en la selección de películas, ahora gracias al hijo de Argentino Vainikoff', Luis Vainikoff.
Deseo, con todo mi corazón, una pronta respuesta a esta ridícula e injusta situación, no podemos darnos el lujo de asesinar nuestra propia tradición cultural.


If you love the good movies, like me, and if you live in Autonomic City of Buenos Aires, or close, the Cosmos Movie Theater it's part of our history. Now, called Cosmos Cultural Space, but for most of us just the Cosmos Movie Theater, or simpler, "the Cosmos".
The Government of the Autonomic City of Buenos Aires decided to close the place yesterday, invoking some obscure lack of order in the habilitation papers, a really strange situation.
Founded by Argentino Vainikoff in 1929, "the Cosmos" was, and still is, a refuge for the kind of films hardly you will find in the commercial movie theaters, keeping always a great quality in the selection of movies, now thanks to Argentino Vainikoff's son, Luis Vainikoff.
I wish, with all my heart, a fast answer to this ridiculous and unfair situation, we can't afford the luxury to kill our own cultural tradition.

Recordando a Michel Serrault / Remembering Michel Serrault

No voy a recordar a Michel Serrault por su trabajo en "La Cage aux folles" / "La Jaula de las Locas" / "Birds of a Feather" (Edouard Molinaro, 1978).
Mis elecciones personales son dos pequeños papeles, en "Préparez vos mouchoirs" / "Preparen los pañuelos" / "Get Out Your Handkerchiefs" (Bertrand Blier, 1978) y "Buffet froid" / "Cold cuts" (Bertrand Blier, 1979), y como el Inspector Robert Staniland, en "On ne meurt que 2 fois" / "Sólo se muere dos veces" / "He Died with His Eyes Open" (Jacques Deray, 1985), con la maravillosa Charlotte Rampling.
Y eso es suficiente, para mi, para mantener a este excelente actor en mi memoria, por siempre.
Entonces, gracias Michel, gracias por estos pequeños y bellos momentos en la historia del cine.
