El otro día estaba hablando con unos amigos sobre un nuevo álbum, estábamos realmente asombrados por el excelente material incluido en el disco de Lucio Balduini "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007).
Para mi esta es una grabación fuera de lo común, la clase de trabajo que pueden ver saltando más allá de la superficie de mediocridad, y el salto, bueno, realmente alto.
Entonces, voy a estar en Virasoro Bar, este jueves 8, noviembre 2007, 21:30 hs., para disfrutar del talento de Lucio Balduini (guitarra, efectos, loops, composición), Ariel Naón (contrabajo y bajo eléctrico, set free), Rodrigo Reparaz (batería), y los invitados especiales: Ramiro Flores (saxos) y Alberto Ibarguren (samplers).
Un largo camino para el Lucecita Project, desde los días del 2005 en Barcelona, y un pequeño comentario, la forma en que Lucio Balduini habla sobre la influencia de Jorge De la Vega (un maravilloso, y olvidado artista de Argentina. Músico, pintor, y mucho más...) en su trabajo.
"Lucecita", una música con rastros de la libertad del jazz, pero no es jazz. Aquí puedo sentir muchas puertas abiertas, a un hermoso mundo de sonidos, elijan la suya y entren...



The other day I was talking with some friends about a new album, we were really astonished by the excellent material included in Lucio Balduini's "Lucecita" (Buri, 2007).
For me this is a recording out of the ordinary, the kind of work you can see jumping beyond the surface of mediocrity, and the jump, well, a really high one.
So, I'm going to be at Virasoro Bar, this thursday 8, november 2007, 9:30 pm, to enjoy the talent from Lucio Balduini (guitar, effects, loops, composition), Ariel Naón (acoustic and electric bass, set free), Rodrigo Reparaz (drums), and the special guests: Ramiro Flores (saxophones) and Alberto Ibarguren (samplers).
A long road for the Lucecita Project, since the days from 2005 in Barcelona, and one little comment, the way Lucio Balduini talks about the influence from Jorge De la Vega (a wonderful, and forgotten artist from Argentina. Musician, painter, and much more...) on his work.
"Lucecita", a music with traces from the jazz freedom, but it's not jazz. Here I can feel many open doors, to a beautiful world of sounds, choose yours and enter...

Berenice Corti, el alma, y el cuerpo, detrás de algunos maravillosos momentos en la historia del jazz de Argentina (como el Jazz Club, por nombrar uno...), estará presentando su trabajo "El Mono, el Chivo y el hermano del Gato: La modernidad del jazz de los sesenta en Buenos Aires".
La cita, mañana, miércoles 7, noviembre 2007, de 14:30 a 16:30 hs., en el Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas (Corrientes 2038, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), en las VII Jornadas de Sociología de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), celebrando el cincuenta aniversario de la carrera de Sociología.
En unos días el trabajo estará disponible en el blog (Jazz Club Argentina) de Berenice Corti, estaremos impacientes esperando por ese importante material sobre nuestra cultura, y por supuesto no es sólo para amantes del jazz...

Estoy tratando de recuperar el aliento después del último viernes, he estado en la presentación de Roxana Amed en Notorious (Callao 966, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), ¡qué placer!
La voz de Roxana Amed, su guitarra, Claudio Iuliano en guitarras, Fernando Galimany en contrabajo y Mario Gusso en percusión.
Después de eso he estado escuchando, volviendo a descubrir para ser honesto, su primer álbum solista: "Limbo" (EMI, 2004), y comprendiendo un poco más su segundo álbum: "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), y que gran compositora es.
Ahora, la gente en Rosario y Córdoba tendrá la misma oportunidad para disfrutar su hermosa música.
En noviembre 8, 2007, ella estará en el XI Festival de Jazz "Santiago Grande Castelli" (Rosario, Argentina), y en noviembre 9 y 10 en Córdoba, el 9 en el CPC (Centro de Participación Comunal) Centro Cultural Arguello (5021 Avenida Rafael Nuñez, Córdoba, Argentina), y el 10 en Fragueiro 2020 (Mariano Fragueiro 2020, Bº Alta Córdoba, Córdoba, Argentina).
Espero que esta "pequeña gira" se convierta en una puerta abierta a muchas giras en el futuro para Roxana Amed, sabemos que una inteligente y talentosa artista como ella merece eso, y mucho más.


I'm just trying to catch my breath after last friday, I'd been at Roxana Amed's presentation at Notorious (Callao 966, Autonomic City of Buenos Aires), what a pleasure!

After that I'd been listening, rediscovering to be honest, her first solo album: "Limbo" (EMI, 2004), and understanding a little more her second album: "Entremundos" (S-Music, 2006), and what a great composer she is.
Now, the people on Rosario and Córdoba will have the same chance to enjoy her beautiful music.
On november 8, 2007, she'll be at the XI "Santiago Grande Castelli" Jazz Festival (Rosario, Argentina), and on november 9 and 10 at Córdoba, the 9 at the CPC (Community Center) Arguello Cultural Center (5021 Rafael Nuñez Avenue, Córdoba, Argentina), and the 10 Fragueiro 2020 (Mariano Fragueiro 2020, Bº Alta Córdoba, Córdoba, Argentina).
I hope this "little tour" will become an open door to many future tours for Roxana Amed, we know that and intelligent and talented artist like her deserves that, and much more.
