Nuestro buen amigo Alvaro Zavala (guitarra) estará tocando este sábado 25, noviembre 2007, en el Ensamble Jazz Festival '07, Banfield Teatro Ensamble (CCBTE - Banfield Teatro Ensamble Complejo Cultural, Larrea 350, Lomas de Zamora).
Y con el, Melissa Aldana (saxo), Juan David Mojica (saxo soprano), René Gatica (batería) y Flavio Romero (contrabajo).
Estén allí a las 20:00 hs. para este show, pero permanezcan allí , porque a las 21:00 hs. pueden compartir más buena música, el Paula Shocron (piano) - Marcelo Gutfraind (guitarra) Cuarteto, y a las 22:00 hs., una jam session con músicos seleccionados del concurso previo del festival.
Las entradas son gratuitas, entonces no hay excusa para disfrutar esta maravillosa invitación.

Sencillo como eso. Ningún discurso pomposo, no señor, no es su estilo. Sólo fijar en mi mente y corazón su talento en el cine, teatro, literatura, en el escenario, o detrás del telón, escribiendo, dirigiendo
Dos películas son para mi una viva descripción de su arte: "Las bicicletas son para el verano" (Jaime Chávarri, 1984) y "El viaje a ninguna parte" (Fernando Fernán Gómez, 1986), la primera también un éxito en el teatro, una hermosamente triste historia sobre el terrible impacto de la Guerra Civil Española en la gente común, la segunda, una conmovedora reflexión sobre el mundo del teatro y la vida.
Vida, como el dijo una vez, más importante que el arte, un fiel anarquista, un luchador por la libertad, bueno, perdón Fernando, me estoy poniendo sentimental, y pomposo, será difícil caminar sin tu "presencia física" cerca nuestro...
Entonces, de vuelta al comienzo, gracias Fernando, gracias por tu arte, y por tu vida...


Simple as that. No pompous speech, no sir, not his style. Just fix in my mind and heart his talent in the movies, theater and literature, on the stage, or behind the curtains, writing, directing.
Two movies are for me a a vivid depiction from his art: "Las bicicletas son para el verano" - "Bicycles are for the summer" - (Jaime Chávarri, 1984) and "El viaje a ninguna parte" - "Voyage to nowhere" - (Fernando Fernán Gómez, 1986), the first one also a success at the theater, a beautifully sad story about the terrible impact from the the Spanish Civil War on the common people, the second one, a poignant reflexion about the word of theater and life.
Life, as he said once, more important that art, a faithful anarchist, a fighter for freedom, well, sorry Fernando, I'm getting sentimental, and pompous, will be hard to walk without your "physical presence" close to us...
Then, back to the beginning, thanks Fernando, thanks for your art, and for your life...

Dos shows, dos géneros musicales, y el está en ambos. No solo por supuesto, algunos buenos amigos de Darío Artiguenave (bajo) también estarán allí.
Primero, De Un Sur (canciones + máquinas), presentando su primer álbum, grabado en vivo en La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina), este sábado 24, noviembre 2007, 21:00 hs., en el Centro Cultural Islas Malvinas (calles 19 y 50, La Plata).

¿Un músico de jazz? Si, de alguna forma... No podemos negar que el jazz está presente en su música, y Africa, pero hay algo más. Siempre estoy diciendo que una de las mejores cosas en el jazz son las muchas puertas abiertas que se tienen en ese género, especialmente si hay talento involucrado, y Pepi Taveira lo tiene.
También Enrique Norris (piano y corneta), un gran socio para Pepi Taveira (batería, percusión) en este cuarteto, y el resto de la banda, excelentes músicos: Cristián Bórtoli (contrabajo), Pablo Puntoriero (saxo y percusión).
Entonces, no lo olviden, la cita, este sábado por la noche, noviembre 24, 22.30 hs., en Virasoro Bar.
Atrévanse a cruzar los límites de las etiquetas musicales y disfruten la buena música.


A jazz musician? Yes, somehow... We can't deny that jazz it's present in his work, and Africa, but there's something more. I'm always saying that one of the best things in jazz are the many open doors you've got with that genre, specially if talent it's involved, and Pepi Taveira got it.
Also Enrique Norris (piano and cornet), a great partner for Pepi Taveira (drums, percussion) in this quartet, and the rest of the band, excellent musicians: Cristián Bórtoli (acoustic bass), Pablo Puntoriero (sax and percussion).
